Canal Crossing A Solar Project Overview
Utility-scale solar converts energy from the sun to clean, renewable electricity for use in homes and communities. Solar technology is simple, scalable, and provides great flexibility for the future of the grid. As a daytime power source, solar helps meet electricity demand during peak demand hours.
RWE is proposing to develop the Canal Crossing A Solar Project on approximately 4,700 acres of privately owned land in Morgan County, Colorado.
The Project would include construction and operation of a utility-scale solar facility, including a switchyard, photovoltaic substation, laydown yard, and battery energy storage system.
The Project is in Morgan County, Colorado, approximately 10 miles south of Fort Morgan, 1 mile west of County Road 19, and 2 miles north of County Road F. The Project area will encompass approximately 4,598 acres of privately owned rangeland in the Agricultural (A) Morgan County Zone District.
Project Benefits
The Canal Crossing A Solar Project will offer employment opportunities during construction and tax revenue for Morgan County.
