Notice for the Preparation of a Morgan County Special Use Permit and Public Open House

Project Information

RWE Americas (RWE) is seeking your comment and input on its proposed Canal Crossing A Solar Project (the Project). RWE is proposing to develop the Project on approximately 4,700 acres of privately owned land in Morgan County, Colorado. The Project will include construction and operation of a utility-scale solar facility, including a switchyard, photovoltaic substation, laydown yard, and battery energy storage system.

In accordance with Morgan County zoning regulations, RWE will prepare Morgan County Special Use Permit applications for the Project.

If approved, the anticipated Project construction start date would be April 2027 with commercial operation in August 2029.

Public Open House

Join RWE to learn more about the Canal Crossing A Solar Project. This will be an informal opportunity for the community to learn about the Project, visit with the RWE team, and provide questions and comments. Information will be on display and light refreshments will be provided. No formal presentation is planned for this event.
