Wildfire Protection Plan
Holistic Approach
SWCA prides itself on being a learning organization and has Always Learning as a core value. By practicing Adaptive Management, we successfully recommend and implement holistic approaches to complex projects.
The Temecula Creek Project area faces several interrelated issues including wildfire, hazardous fuels buildup, nonnative species, degraded wildlife and riparian habitat, significant cultural resources, and stressors from a homeless population. Our approach to recommend fuels treatments will promote native plants, restore health and resilience in the riparian area, increase water and wildlife habitat quality, integrate traditional ecological knowledge, and deter future illicit human activities.
SWCA’s interdisciplinary team ensures that our project recommendations provide the holistic approach and incorporate adaptive management to facilitate the City effectively using this plan as a model for future projects.
