Agency Roles

Lead Agency: Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS)

• Providing technical assistance to the sponsors; overseeing preparation and review of the EA.

Project Lead Sponsor: Madison Soil and Water Conservation District (MSWCD)

• With assistance from co-sponsors, is responsible for securing matching funds necessary to install structural components of the Project; responsible for coordinating with NRCS, federal, state and local entities, acquiring rights-of-way, and securing necessary permits.

Co-Sponsors: Madison Parish Police Jury, Madison Parish Sheriff’s Office, LA Department of Agriculture & Forestry, LA Department of Wildlife & Fisheries, and the U.S. Department of Agriculture – NRCS
